  • The Bristletooth Tomini Tang, otherwise known as the Tomini Surgeonfish, changes as it matures. As juveniles, they are colored with multiple colors, including: tan, yellow, blue, and white highlights.

Once matured, their bodies become a solid color; their tails turn blue, and their dorsal and anal fins are tipped with a golden-yellow. Their faces are freckled with yellow-gold and their eyes are lined with the same yellow.

The best housing choice for the Bristletooth Tomini Tang is a 70 gallon tank or larger to provide ample room for swimming. It is best to keep them without other tangs because they tend to be aggressive towards tangs and surgeonfish that look similar, but they are peaceful around other fish and can be kept with them as well.

    Diet

Although tangs will eat meaty foods, they prefer marine based seaweed and algae which will boosts their immune system, reduce aggression, and improve overall health. To feed them, tie dried seaweed to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week.
