Flameback Angelfish (Centropyge Acanthops)
The Flame Angelfish are a type of dwarf angelfish. They are orange-red in color, and they have black lines across the body. Lining their dorsal and anal fins, is an electric blue with smaller black lines, lines that sporadically mark the caudal areas of their bodies.
It is best to house the Flame Angelfish in a 70 gallon tank or larger with live rock for grazing and plenty of areas for hiding. These fish adapt to aquarium life fairly well, but should be introduced last when bringing them into an aquarium community. Keep in mind, that they are not the best reef dwellers and that they are prone to nipping at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles. Also, they are highly sensitive to elevated levels of copper, and should not be exposed to levels above .15 ppm.
The diet of the Flame Angelfish should include: high-quality angelfish preparations, spirulina, marine algae, and meaty foods such as mysis or frozen shrimp.
