Lyretail Wrasse (Thalassona lunare)
The Lunare Wrasse, otherwise known as the Lyretail Wrasse or the Moon Wrasse, are green in body, lined with purple and blue, and masked with purple and blue markings in the face. Their caudal fins are shaped like a lyre and are colored yellow.
It is best to house the Lunare Wrasse in a 125 gallon tank or larger with live rock for hiding. These fish are rather aggressive and should be placed with other aggressive tank mates that can hold their own. The Lunare Wrasse can be territorial and may harass any new additions to the community, so it should be the last one added to the aquarium. These fish are not reef compatible. They do not eat corals or live plants, but they do eat mantis shrimp and bristleworms.
Diet
The diet of the Lunare Wrasse should include: meaty foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp, marine algae, marine pellets, and marine flakes.
